The top three mobile app entries will receive cash prizes of $2,500 (1st place), $1,500 (2nd place), and $1,000 (3rd place). Prize money will be divided equally among team members (e.g., in a first place team of four, each team member will receive a check for $625.00). Many thanks to our sponsors listed below for their generous support of this inaugural competition. 

1ST PLACE: Event It Up

Team members (4): Sagor Bhuiyan, Lawrence Namait, Terrance Johnson, Mir Ikram Uddin. Event It Up addresses the disconnect between students and WSU administration and faculty to improve the effectiveness and relevance of events on and around campus. Using crowdsourcing concepts and incentives to provide feedback about potential events, Event it Up aims to create a more lively and engaged campus.

2ND PLACE: Get Involved

Team members (1): Iyad Kuwatly. An app to provide simple and easy access to the latest events in WSU’s campus and throughout Detroit with the ability to categorize events, include maps, and provide easy access to event organizers.

3RD PLACE: Pinounce

Team members (1): Andrew Giang. A mobile app that allows college students to stay in the know about what is going on around campus and avoid the messy bulletin boards where flyers, job postings, housing options, and student org postings are lost in the chaos.
