The submission period is now closed. There were a total of 12 apps submitted by the competition deadline, Friday May 30th. There titles and descriptions are listed below in alphabetical order.

 

  1. Academic Success Center Guide

An app designed to connect students with academic support services on the go by making it easy to schedule tutoring appointments and make use of other support services available to them.

  1. Brain Vine

An app to strengthen the brain through training exercises and collect data for research for children that have experienced trauma. It’s a fun, easy to use game similar to website such as luminosity to focus on skill building and executive functions in the frontal lobe.

  1. Event It Up

An app to address the disconnect between students and WSU administration and faculty to improve the effectiveness and relevance of events on and around campus. Using crowdsourcing concepts and incentives to provide feedback about potential events, Event it Up aims to create a more lively and engaged campus.

  1. Fast Post

A social app designed to let users share posts with their followers for a limited amount of time, unless followers promote the event to keep it “alive” for an extended duration, allowing the most interesting posts to trend for longer amounts of time.

  1. Get Involved

An app to provide simple and easy access to the latest events in WSU’s campus and throughout Detroit with the ability to categorize events, include maps, and provide easy access to event organizers

  1. Pinounce

A mobile app that allows college students to stay in the know about what is going on around campus and avoid the messy bulletin boards where flyers, job postings, housing options, and student org postings are lost in the chaos.

  1. ScheduRanker

An app that helps organize tasks on a to-do list for students, with the unique feature being it takes into account the due date of the task and the amount of work left to complete the task.

  1. Warrior Menu

A hub for the various places to eat at WSU and around campus in the Midtown area with information about location, hours, phone number, and ratings.

  1. Wayne Circle

An online community for social events, item exchanges, and other information. It’s a combination of craigslist and instant messengers that better connect the WSU community.

  1. Wayne State of the Art

Provides information to users about the public art that exists on campus using a virtual tour guide approach, aiming to attract young professionals and artists to campus to spend time and grow interest in the University and its history.

  1. WSU Work Play

An app to provide links to all of the work and play opportunities on and around campus, including events, internships, job postings, and other activities WSU has to offer.

  1. WSU Time

Designed to promote community interactions and include a list of main events on campus and real-time parking availability
